I am a Registered Massage Therapist located on the beautiful Saanich Peninsula in the Greater Victoria area of BC. I work from a clinic in my home that I share with my husband, three young children and our dog. I feel very lucky to have a career where I can choose to work from home with flexible hours around my busy family life, and I am ever grateful to my community for supporting me!
I graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2010 and have worked as an RMT both overseas as well as locally ever since. I also spent some time teaching at the College part time for two years before going on my first Mat Leave and loved the opportunity of being able to share my knowledge and experience with the next generation of practitioners. I am currently registered and in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC) and am a member of the Registered Massage Therapists of British Columbia (RMTBC).
I use a wide variety of techniques in my treatments, the combination of which depends on each patient’s needs and goals. My focus is to treat with a holistic approach, addressing compensatory issues as well as bringing increased awareness to the body. I treat every patient thoughtfully and specifically, promoting healthy movement and self-healing. I believe that the relationship between each person and their own body is crucial for a positive treatment outcome, and I am here to help to facilitate that relationship and to aid in bringing it to a place of healthy living. My treatments are deeply therapeutic and at the same time bring a relaxing sense of calm, my goal being to centre and restore the nervous system while also treating any physical symptoms you are experiencing. Having worked in a number of different clinical settings, I have brought with me to my home clinic a combination of all of my favourite things, including a comfortable table with high quality linens, quiet music and lighting, and the option of adding essential oils and hot towels during your treatment at no extra cost.
I am returning to work part time after having my third baby, and am excited to be getting back to work as much as I can around being home with my children. My hours will be limited to evenings and weekends, but I will be opening up extra shifts whenever I can, so please bear with me as I find a balance. When not at work, I spend my time exploring the local parks and beaches with my children, learning to grow food in my garden, and making music with my family. I look forward to welcoming you to my new space soon!
Please note that I am currently only accepting patients whom I have previously treated or referrals (referrals can be from healthcare professionals and/or current patients). If you have any questions regarding this policy please feel free to send me an email lnicolsonrmt@gmail.com.
Prior to your first visit to the clinic, you will be required to fill out an online health history questionnaire. This will be sent to you via your online booking portal in the Jane App. You will also have the option of filling out information for your extended health benefits if you would like me to directly bill for your treatment cost. I am registered for a number of providers, but please be aware that not all of them are available to direct bill, and therefore you may be required to pay in full at the time of your treatment. I also cannot direct bill for ICBC, WCB or MSP treatments at this time.
I am currently only able to accept cash, cheque and e-transfer for payment.
Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your treatment so there is time to get settled before the treatment begins. There will be chairs outside the door to wait on if I’m not finished with the previous client, please knock on the door when you arrive so I know you are there and I will come out when I am ready for you. I work very hard to remain on time for myself and my clients, so please be aware that if you arrive late I cannot extend your treatment time and you will be charged for the full amount.
Masks are currently optional at the clinic, but if you would prefer me to wear one during your treatment please let me know before you come and I am happy to do so. If any of the public health guidelines change between the time of booking and your treatment day I will be sure to let you know.
I realize that life happens and everyone gets sick or has unforeseen circumstances that may mean you need to cancel a treatment. Please give me at least 24 hours notice if you do need to reschedule so I am able to fill your spot with someone on the waitlist. If less than 24 hours notice is given a late-cancellation fee of 50% will be charged. If no notice is given (no show) for an appointment then you will be charged for the full treatment amount.
I offer three treatment options to suit your needs, please book online through the Jane App to see my current schedule and availability. If you cannot find a treatment time that works for you, please send me an email or add yourself to the waitlist through the online booking portal to be notified when spots open up.
All prices include 5% GST
Please note that I am able to direct bill for a number of extended healthcare benefits. For the remaining cost or if you don’t have extended healthcare, I accept cash, cheque or e-transfer.
I am not registered to direct bill for ICBC, WCB or MSP treatments.
